The Aerial Lyra Hoop Round Sling, also known as a spanset, is crafted from high-strength polyester for durability and flexibility. Designed to securely support aerial hoops, this sling allows for easy attachment and adjustment. Its soft texture ensures it wraps gently around the hoop without causing damage. Ideal for both professional and recreational aerialists, this round sling offers reliable performance and safety during aerial routines.

Versatile and Simple

0 point (tabless) hoops are a great option for versatility, allowing you to rig as a 1 or 2 point hoop.

They are also simple to rig. Removing the tabs reduces the amount of hardware needed in your overall set-up, reduces the metal-on-metal contact (which leads to excessive wear), and eliminates coming into contact with hardware on the top bar.

Our Aerial Hoops come ready to rig up and use out of the box with a grippy matt powder coating that is durable and looks great. However, the bare powder coating can take a little while to warm up (like a pole dancing pole), so many people prefer to tape their hoop up in one of our many colourful grip tapes. You can find a guide to taping your aerial hoop here.

Suitable for Beginners and Experts

0-point hoops are ideal for teachers as they offer the option to rig as a single point or a double point in just one hoop!

If you rig it as a 2-point hoop, you can choose how far apart your points are which will change how the hoop feels and moves. This allows the user to play and experiment or the teacher to adjust for different students.

You can even rig a 0-point hoop horizontally, known as a Chandelyra; this opens up a whole new way of using the hoop and is a fantastic performance piece.

If you have limited height, a 0-Point or 1-Point is best compared to a 2-point hoop.

You might also want to consider going up a size if you intend to use this hoop for doubles.

Note: All sizes listed are the EXTERNAL diameter of the Hoop. For the internal measurement deduct 5 cm (2 inches) from the external diameter.

How to Rig a 0 Point Hoop

You can choke a Polyester Strop or Aerial PolySafe Rope directly to the bar.

Attaching soft rigging directly to the hoop reduces metal-on-metal wear and removes hardware from where you will hock on.

You can use a Prodigy Aerial Sewn Loop Sling if you need rigging which is less visible to the audience but we don’t recommend this for more long term use.

If you do not want the Aerial Hoop to spin, you need to connect your strop/rope to your anchor point with a carabiner. We recommend this when you want to keep a hoop rigged from one point facing an audience.

If you want to spin, you need a carabiner at the top of the rope/strop, connected to a swivel and then another carabiner securing you to your anchor point.

Tech Specs

Made from 1” diameter 10G tubing (25.4mm with 3mm wall). TIG-welded with mild steel filler rod, root and then cap welds done on the top and bottom joining welds. The top weld has a solid mild steel insert to back the weld.

The powder-coated finish, which looks great, protects the steel from rust and is easy to wipe clean. Ready to use with or without tape.
